Born in Lisbon, she trained in music, dance, and theater. She attended the National Conservatory. She has a degree in singing from the Lisbon School of Music and a PhD in music (singing) from the University of Aveiro, with a thesis entitled “Lyric singing and musical theater technique – Crossover practices.” She has performed solo recitals with conductor and composer Afonso Malão, featuring works by O. Messiaen, P. Hindemith, F. Poulenc, R. Strauss, W. Mozart, and Lopes Graça. She premiered Pluged In-ez by composer Carlos Azevedo at the National Theater of São João. She has recorded CDs with Rodrigo Leão (Mysterium and Theatrum: Lisbon), Carlos Zárate (Placeta 7: Granada), Mão Morta (Mão Morta Revisitada: Lisbon). She has collaborated with the Gulbenkian Choir and the Choir of the National Theater of São Carlos, participating in operas, concerts, tours, and recordings.


In the various projects in which she participated, she toured Portugal, Spain, Hungary, Brazil, and Belgium. She collaborated as a singer and actress in the plays O Homem Absurdo by Alexandre Lyra Leite, for the Inestética Companhia Teatral, and in Aos Peixes by João Maria Vieira Mendes, directed by Manuel Wiborg. She collaborated in the vocal preparation of the actors for the play O Céu de Sacadura, at the D. Maria II theater. She was responsible for the musical and vocal direction of the musical Romeu e Julieta – Uma História de Gatos (Romeo and Juliet – A Story of Cats) for the Teatro Infantil de Lisboa at the Maria Matos Theater between November 2003 and May 2004. She has been teaching on the Theater course at ESAD.CR since 2004 and is currently a member of the Scientific-Pedagogical Committee for the Bachelor’s Degree in Theater, where she is responsible for the Theater Workshop. She was Deputy Director of ESAD.CR and Vice-President of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria for the area of Communication.
