Marco Monteiro is a multidisciplinary designer based in Coimbra, Portugal. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Design from ESEC (Polytechnic of Coimbra) and a Master’s degree in Design for Health and Wellbeing from ESAD.CR (Polytechnic of Leiria), where he conducted research focused on the role of design in improving the educational climate of students with depressive symptomatology.

He began his professional career as a graphic designer in advertising agencies and graphic design companies, as well as in communication and training contexts. Over time, his practice evolved toward educational environments. At TUMO Coimbra, he worked as a Learning Coach and currently as a Graphic Design Workshop Leader, leading workshops that combine theory and practice, with a strong focus on design tools, creative development, and critical thinking.

In parallel, he works as a Design Researcher at ciTechCare – Center for Innovative Care and Health Technology, contributing to the project Scale Up: Scaling up Pulmonary Rehabilitation Uptake and Adherence: Co-design and Implementation of a Hybrid Intervention.
