Marta Galvão Lucas (Lisbon, 1971) graduated in sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon in 1997. In 2001/02 she attended the post-graduation course in urban design at the Centro Português do Design in partnership with the University of Barcelona. She has complemented and continued her training in different areas and in several institutions (Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, Galeria Monumental, Galeria Ether, AR.CO independent art school, Centro de Arte Moderna – Gulbenkian, Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, Atelier de Lisboa, Instituto Superior Técnico, Centro de Formação Profissional para a Indústria Cerâmica).
Her most recent exhibitions between 2015 and 2016 include “Desejo, tensão, transição: percursos do design Português” (EXD 2015 – Galeria Nave, Matosinhos) and “Devolver a vista”, in collaboration with Miguel Sá and Paulo T. Silva (Casa Museu Anastácio Gonçalves – Lisbon).
She is currently developing research for her Ph.D. at Faculdade de Belas de Artes de Lisboa, with a research scholarship from Fundação da Ciência e Tecnologia in protocol with VICARTE – Unidade de I&D Vidro e Cerâmica para as Artes – FBAUL/NOVA.
