Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department of the School of Technology and Management (ESTG) of the Instituto Politécnico de Leiria (IPLeiria), since October 1990. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico of the Universidade de Lisboa. He currently teaches various subjects in the following areas: Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Computer Aided Engineering (Molds and Plastics), Design of Molds and Plastic Parts. He has industrial experience in the areas of computer-aided product development and production (CAD/CAM) in plastic injection molding companies, which puts him in a privileged position as an interface academia and industry.

Main areas of interest: Computer simulation of plastics transformation processes, additive manufacturing of polymers, metals, ceramics and glass, reverse engineering, Industry 4.0, Ecodesign, sustainable mobility and smart cities, etc.
