Fernando Poeiras has a degree in Social Communication from UNL, a Ph.D. in Product Design from FAUL, and is a Ph.D. student in Contemporary Art at the University of Coimbra.

A professor in higher education since 1993, he is currently an adjunct professor at ESAD.CR and a researcher at LIDA.

His general research interest is how materialities, in their complexity and diversity, interact with human experience, politics, and our world. He has worked in advertising, new business development, and associations with companies. At the moment he is developing a set of projects with Drawing.Matter (UK).
