Miguel Macedo holds the title of Specialist in Design and a degree in Graphic Design. As an Adjunct Professor, he has been teaching in this area in the undergraduate and master’s programmes at the School of Arts and Design of Caldas da Rainha since 2008.
He regularly supervises master’s theses related to the various branches of visual communication, organizes workshops, and exhibitions, and coordinates work teams in the production of concrete projects applied within the scope of external partnerships.
He was a member of the Scientific Technical Council and of the coordination of the Graphic Design and Multimedia course at this institution.
Since 1994, as a designer, he has developed communication projects in several Portuguese agencies working in the creation, consultancy, implementation, and management of small and large brands in the main areas of environmental design, campaigns, packaging, and visual identities. Recently he has been closer to the editorial territory, namely working for some national publishers.
For more than two decades he has pursued and preserved a private collection of memorabilia, documentation, and various graphic material, studying its historical plurality, the multiple areas of action of graphic design, and the typology of the message in its time.
