She is a Professor at ESAD Caldas da Rainha (IPL) since 2008, where she teaches the Fine Arts and Graphic Design Undergraduate courses. She was the coordinator of the Department of Fine Arts between 2019-2022. She is a member of the coordinating committee and an integrated member of the Research Unit of LIDA –Research Laboratory in Design and Arts.
With a degree in Communication Design from ESTGAD –IPLeiria (2000); MFA in Public Art at Bauhaus University, Weimar (2005) and Ph.D. from FBA.UP, Oporto, in Performance Art. Her research focuses on the discussion around Performance art and visual documentation, especially how the relations between gesture, narratives of intimacy, and memory can be understood as an aesthetic of existence (Foucault) that she explores through exercises/ studies of somatic bodywork, fasting practices and silent retreats.
Teresa has participated in group exhibitions nationally and internationally (Lisbon, Oporto, Caldas da Rainha, Braga, Belgrade, Berlin, Brazil, Hildesheim, Weimar, Wroclaw and Moscow) with emphasis on the Fernando Beck award (Florianópolis/ Brazil), in 2014. Her work is represented in national collections such as the CCB Belém; Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and private collections.
