Vítor Agostinho was born in Peniche in 1974. He graduated from the School of Arts and Design of Caldas da Rainha, and concluded, in the same institution, the Master’s in Product Design, in the area of glass and ceramics.
He is currently an ESAD.cr guest professor in the Degree in Product Design – Ceramics and Glass, and a Ph.D. student in Design, at the University of Aveiro.
Vítor Agostinho is a designer with a relevant experience of several years in the industry. Recently he has reoriented his work towards a more personalized and self-production development, as a result of his research in ceramics, in the scope of his master’s project, where he explored the creation of new processes of object conformation that allow formal variation from the same mold, a project he called “Mutant Molds”.
The knowledge of these two dimensions, mass production, and self-production, allowed him the unique opportunity to develop new methods of ceramic forming.
Promoting an experimental approach to molds, he aims to develop products that have a history and a unique shape, that incorporate and reveal in themselves all the decisions made during the manufacturing process.
