Isabel Baraona has been teaching at ESAD.CR since 2003.

She has a degree in Painting from La Cambre (Belgium) and a Ph.D. in Visual Arts and Intermedia from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain).

In 2013, as part of a post-doctoral fellowship, she was a fellow at the University Rennes 2 (France) where she developed Tipo.pt, an online archive of artist books and author publishing in Portugal; she is also co-editor of Portuguese Small Press Yearbook (2013-2019).

She has participated in solo and group exhibitions, in Portugal and abroad. She is represented in national and international collections such as MGFR (Fernando Figueiredo Ribeiro), Safira and Luís Serpa, EDP, Centro Português de Serigrafia, Yolande De Bontridder, Galila Barzilaï-Hollander, among others.
