Escritas: Manifestos began in 2022 with a collection of notebooks compiling translations of interviews and writings by artists, documents currently stored in the ESAD.CR library collection. That same year, we launched the first notebook with original text, Poesia para uma Revolução (im)possível (fragments on the multiple times of the Manifesto), by Rodrigo Silva. In 2025, we resumed these notebooks, which are organized into two editorial lines: the transcription and editing of open classes taught by guests and the publication of original manifesto texts written by colleagues from various fields of study and courses taught by ESAD.CR.

We document the dynamic program of open classes that address conceptual, formal, social, and historical aspects of contemporary artistic practices. Direct testimony, a complex and informed discourse, proves to be an instrument in updating training programs and strengthening relations between the school, the cultural environment, and the professional world.
