Rein4Concrete is an additive manufacturing research project that aims for the use of sustainable construction materials, integrated within a circular economy framework. The main objective is to utilize additive manufacturing systems and methods in conjunction with the quality offered by traditional block construction. The project is part of the INOV.AM agenda - Innovation in Additive Manufacturing.

Using a hybrid construction technology and specialized robotic systems, the aim is to create a production structure for large-scale cementitious mortar modules that offer a high degree of shape freedom and innovative design. Sustainability is a crucial part of the project. Inorganic industrial waste will be introduced into the raw material used for manufacturing the modules, promoting a circular economy approach. The goal is to leverage the advantages of Additive Manufacturing while implementing the qualities of traditional module manufacturing, using materials also developed within the project scope. The entire project will be part of a digital ecosystem where it will be possible to design, plan, monitor, and control the different phases of a construction and manufacturing project.
