Before the arts and sciences separated, natural philosophers did not recognise artists and scientists as distinct figures.
At a time when the need for plural and interdisciplinary perspectives is being recognised, we propose encounters that transcend disciplinary boundaries.
Through a series of round tables, we want to suspend these artifices, which were so important in the last century, and reshape these boundaries as spaces for synergy and unexpected encounters.
We want unlikely conversations between scientists, designers and artists, towards a re-enchantment of the world.
The first series of these Round Tables will address topics such as Science and Art, the Future of the Sea, Coastal Communities and Sustainable Development. Starting from our region and Portugal’s intimate relationship with the sea, let these dialogues inspire us with new visions and practices, which have no place in the here and now, but in the futures we want to build.
