Cátia Ferreira graduated in Equipment Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon in 2022, with a minor in Digital Design. She is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Product Design at the School of Arts and Design of the Polytechnic of Leiria.

Her research interests focus on different areas of design, such as additive manufacturing technologies and materials, design for sustainability, eco-design, and social design.

In her thesis, she is developing objects that intensify experiences. Here she intends to bridge the gap, through design, between the most remote cultures of a given place and bring lost history and knowledge to new generations with the aim of safeguarding, maintaining, and enhancing heritage. She has received and is currently attending a research grant at LIDA – Research Laboratory in Design and Arts.
