Susana Leonor, who holds a PhD in DESIGN from Aveiro University in 2016, has developed her path around creativity and technologies. Since 2018, she has been a Professor at ISMAT – Lusófona Group and Director of the Communication Design and Creative Technologies Degree. Teaching since 2006 at Lusófona University in Lisboa and then at IADE-EU, has always been connected to the different study cycles in the areas of creativity, design, technologies, and innovation. Her research path has been linked to creative, participatory processes, co-design, and design of systems/processes; therefore, she also has an excellent affinity for research in applied active pedagogical practices and lifelong learning, which applies to the courses she manages.
In parallel, she is a partner at the company GUDA, where she develops participation and facilitation models through research into market areas and trends (micro and macro).
Currently integrates several research projects, namely Cocoon – Co-Creating greener futures: developing and transferring innovative bio-design modules for education to accelerate the green transition- ERASMUS-EDU-2022-PI-FORWARD; EURIDICE – EURopean Inclusive Education for DIgital Society, Social Innovation and CitizEnship – Grant Agreement No. 101123121 and PRR2023-CECAM – RE-C06-i07. The past was part of Town Twinning between Turkey and EU-II – BiomaterialKIT – Practical and pedagogical experiment for more sustainable consumption, as a PI; URBINAT- European H2020 Projects –grant nº 776783: where is leading the Participatory Design Task; Co-Create grant nº 806616 / EU, where he led the Co-creation task for the Portuguese Partner (UNINOVA, Caparica, Portugal); and others in the national territory in the areas of education, innovation and sustainability. Her interest is mainly linked to the expanded field of design due to the contamination of the different areas where design operates, having a greater interest in developing research in the fields of Speculative Design and Critical Design, Performance Design for Biodesign, and Sustainable Futures.
