LiDA’s Mobile Field Labs are compact, research-dedicated units designed to bring the laboratory closer to partners, communities, and field contexts.
As flexible and portable research infrastructures, they support fieldwork, documentation, participatory activities, on-site analysis, and the production of reliable records across different research settings. By enabling researchers to work beyond the laboratory, these units strengthen collaboration with cultural, social, industrial, ecological, and community partners.
They also support the management of research workflows in the field, including data capture, quality control, secure backup, and transfer from fieldwork to archive. This contributes to more robust, flexible, and sustainable research practices across LiDA’s activities.
This work is financed by national funds through FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P., in the scope of the programme Equipar+2 from the Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência allocated to the Research Laboratory in Design and Arts (LIDA) with the reference “UID/PRR/05468/2025″.
