On 15.09.23 the exhibition “Design, Health and Care” was inaugurated. This project that focussed on co-design had an enthusiastic reception by an audience interested in finding out how two areas that have such different paths, as design and health have, can achieve great results when combined for the greater good.

The exhibition “Design, Health and Care”, as part of the SafeTrack project (CENTRO-01-0247-FEDER-070111), presented the design research process of developing a new patient monitoring system to support patient safety in the hospital emergency department.

Design researchers worked collaboratively with healthcare professionals and patient representatives to rethink the context of monitoring patients in the emergency department with the aim of supporting the early identification of clinical deterioration.

From our conversations with healthcare professionals, we discovered that there is a desire for the future of user monitoring in the hospital emergency department to facilitate supervision for healthcare professionals and create moments for real-time health status alerts.
